Clarksville, Ark.-East Texas Baptist's Jade Jeffries hit a three-pointer with 10.5 seconds remaining to push the Tigers past the University of the Ozarks 66-64 Saturday in American Southwest Conference play.
Bryanna Moltz paced Ozarks (8-10, 4-7 ASC) with 28 points. The Eagles were tied 27-27 at intermission and had to overcome a third quarter deficit. Ozarks trailed 41-33 with 5:49 left in the third before climbing within 45-44. Ozarks eventually tied the game 47-47 at the end of the third and took a 51-47 lead on Moltz's three-pointer early in the fourth. Ozarks lost the lead with 3:56 left in the fourth, but regained it with 1:09 remaining. ETBU (3-14 ,1-8 ASC) responded with a bucket, but Moltz hit two free throws to take the lead back. However, Jeffries spoiled the game with a clutch shot from long-range. Diamond Goodwyn posted a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds.
Ozarks will host Belhaven January 28.
