February 17, 2019 Eagles Win Wild Game One With Varner Driving In Seven Clarksville, Ark.-The offense pounded out 16 hits and Breyden Varner drove in seven runs to help the Eagles overcome a seven-run third inning from Westminster College and secure a wild 15-11 win in game one of Sunday's double-header. Varner started the scoring fest in the bottom of the first when he sent a three-run homer over the center field wall. Westminster had a big third inning recording six hits and scoring seven runs to hold a 8-4 advantage. The Eagles were far from done though as the offense provided two runs in the bottom of the third to cut the deficit to 8-6. Westminster got both runs back in the fourth, but the Eagles produced two runs on Rocky Liveoak's two-run double in the bottom half of the frame. Trailing 11-8, the Eagles had another big inning to take the lead for good. This time, in the bottom of the fifth, Rey Lozano doubled in a pair of runs and Varner smashed his second homer of the game to drive in three more. Dakota Ebarb then sliced a double to center field to push across the sixth run of the inning. Varner had more to do as he doubled to center field to record his seventh RBI of the game in the sixth. From there, closer Corey Steward threw a hitless seventh inning to end the game.
February 13, 2019 Eagles' Rally Falls Short Against NCAA II Ouachita Baptist Arkadelphia, Ark.-The Eagles dropped a 9-7 decision to NCAA II Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia Wednesday. The Eagles made an impressive comeback after trailing 9-0, but simply ran out of innings. The Tigers plated five runs in the third inning and then added three runs in the fourth inning to hold a comfortable 8-0 advantage. In the seventh frame, the Eagles finally got on the board when Zach Stanley homered. In the eighth, the Eagles' bats really got going scoring five runs on four hits. Erick Aguirre, Josh Stephens and Rey Lozano all had RBI. The Eagles headed into the ninth trailing 9-6, and loaded the bases with one out in the top half of the inning. The Eagles cut the deficit to 9-7 when Aguirre recorded a sacrifice RBI, but that would be it for the visitors. Chase Edwards went 3-for-4 for the Eagles.
February 9, 2019 Eagles Fight Back In Game One Loss Clarksville, Ark.-The Eagles made a furious comeback late in game one scoring five runs in the final inning only to fall 8-6 Saturday. University of Dallas pounded out four hits and scored six runs in the third inning to take the game's momentum early. University of Dallas starting pitcher Conrad Voss was lights out as he tossed six innings and allowed just two hits. The Eagles did plate a run in the third on Rey Lozano's groundout RBI to make it 6-1. As Voss cruised, the Crusaders made a pitching change in the bottom of the seventh that almost proved costly. The bottom of the inning opened with an error, but the Crusaders then got back-to-back outs to appear in control. But things unraveled quickly as the Eagles mounted a comeback and eventually had the game-winning run on base. Josh Stephens doubled in a run and then later in the frame, Chase Edwards delivered a big two-out bases clearing double to make it 8-5. Sam Swartz singled in a run to put runners at first and second. From there, a second Crusader relief pitcher was able to force a groundout to end the game. Edwards finished 1-for-4 with three RBI. Starting pitcher David Beck took the loss after tossing 2.2 innings. He had four strikeouts.
