November 4, 2018 Muniz, Lee Highlight Oklahoma City University Open Oklahoma City, Okla.-Highlighted by a pair of strong performances from Corey Muniz and Jerhett Lee, the Eagles competed in the Oklahoma City University Open Sunday, November 4. Muniz (125) had the team's highest finish among open participants, placing second in the 125-pound division. Muniz won by major decision over Dominic Rivera from New Mexico Highlands (Maj 12-0). Lee finished third in the 285-pound division. Lee won in sudden victory over Cornelius Putnam from Oklahoma State (SV-1 3-1). Lee also won by fall over Nelson Fuentes from University of Houston-Downtown (Fall 4:07). Both Cameron Oliver (285) and Tinker Kinser (285) advanced deep into the 285-pound division. Oliver posted three wins in the freshman/sophomore competition, while Kinser posted a pair of wins.
November 1, 2018 Wrestling Team Opens Season With 24-16 Win Batesville, Ark.-The Eagles opened the 2018-19 season with a 24-16 win over Lyon College Thursday night in Batesville. After trailing 6-5 at the end of the first period, Corey Muniz (125) eventually took the lead in the second and went on to win, 10-6. Si Nhamnhouane (141) needed to make a push as he fell behind 4-3 after the first period. Nhamnhouane went to work and shutout his opponent the remaining two periods, earning Nhamnhouane a 7-4 victory by decision. Ny'Trell Dean (149) scored six points after he pinned his opponent at the 4:28 mark of the second period. Alejandro Ordonez (197) pinned his opponent in the first to pick up six points for the Eagles. Ordonez's pin secured the victory for the Eagles.
October 30, 2018 Momentum From NCAA Qualifiers Fuel Wrestling Program Clarksville, Ark.-Fueled by a pair of NCAA III National qualifiers last season, the University of the Ozarks wrestling team is building on last year's success under third year head coach LeRoy Gardner. The Eagles made history last season with Devon Jackson (125) and Nathaneal Rankin (133) qualifying for the NCAA III National Championships in Cleveland, Ohio, marking the first time in the program's four-year history wrestlers have advanced to the national stage. The Eagles return several key wrestlers for the 2018-2019 season. Rankin (125), Corey Muniz (125), Jaylen York (141), Ny'Trell Dean (149), Russell Miller (157), Jacob Sherrill (165), Cam Barnes (197) and Adolfo Sotolongo (285) have plenty of experience to lead the Eagles into the 2018-19 season. Beginning its fifth year of existence, the Eagles improved four spots at the NCAA III Regional from the previous season.

September 21, 2018 Blake Mangum Named Assistant Wrestling Coach Clarksville, Ark. – Blake Mangum was named the new University of the Ozarks assistant wrestling coach, it was announced by the athletics department this week.
August 29, 2018 Dr. Deborah Sisson Named Faculty Athletics Representative Clarksville, Ark. – Dr. Deborah Sisson, University of the Ozarks associate professor of business and Baum Professor of Marketing, has been appointed the University's new faculty athletics representative (FAR).
