Clarksville, Ark.-University of the Ozarks sophomore Michael Harris was named the American Southwest Conference Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week, the conference announced Monday.
Harris, a native of Elkins, Ark., was the top finisher for the Eagles, running a 15:15.4 for 11th place, at the University of Central Arkansas Cross Country Challenge Saturday. Harris finished ahead of every NCAA III, NCAA II and NAIA runner at the race. He also beat out numerous NCAA I runners to set the new school 3-mile record. Harris was also the team's top finisher at the Arkansas D-III Championship September 1.
Ozarks will run in the Rhodes College Invitational Saturday in Memphis.
