San Antonio, Texas-The men's tennis team had a number of impressive performances at the USTA/ITA Regional in San Antonio over the weekend.
Senior Bryant Ford won the C Draw Consolation, completing the feat against Matt Bryant from Howard Payne University 6-4, 7-6. Ford breezed through the competition winning 8-1 and 8-4 during his run to the finals. Dillon Murray and Jacob Organ played well in the B draw doubles losing 8-6. Murray made it all the way to the semi-finals of the B draw singles before withdrawing due to an elbow injury.
"This weekend was a good test for our guys," said head coach Cullen Dees. "We had good results. I was really happy we were playing on the last day of the tournament as that was one of our goals. It was a long, tough weekend, and I think our guys understand that fitness is a big part of success. Our guys gained confidence from this weekend."
Ozarks will open the 2016 spring season February 12 against Sul Ross State University and Howard Payne University in Texas.
